Eureka – Pilot

December 29, 2007 //  by editor

This continuity error has a valid reason behind it.  The error is when Brian and Nanuk are in the RV and Nanuk is growling at the break down in the laws of physics.  In the wide shot you can see both Nanuk and Brian, but in the close up of Nanuk you can only see the dog, but should be able to see Brian’s shoulder.  They were in close proximity.  The reason Brian isn’t in the shot is safety.  You don’t want a child that close to a snarling dog.  Even if it is just acting.

Marshal Jack Carter: You’ve had problems before.
Dr. Allison Blake: Ocassionally.
Jack: Like?
Allison: Global Warming.

Sheriff Jack Carter: Not the promotion you were hoping for. No big deal. You can do this Jack.

Notice that, just after Marshal Carter follows Lowjack through the forrest before Taggart shoots Carter with the dart gun, when Carter raises his hand as he’s saying “This is the creepiest this I…” he’s got the dart in his hand.

Eureka – Purple Haze

December 29, 2007 //  by editor

Trivia time.  In Purple Haze, after the Sheriff breaks up the fight between Fargo and Seth Osbourne Fargo says to his beta fish “Warren, tonight we sleep like King’s.”  This is a reference to the Pilot episode.  Warren King was the head of Global Dynamics.

Look at the logo for GD in the pilot, it’s a rounded GD, but in the episodes it’s triangular.  And they have that cool lit sign in front of the building.

Eureka – Right as Raynes

Badge continuity.  When Carter is stuck to the fence at Osbourne’s Farm watch his badge which is somewhere around his left hand.  It’s above is hand, it’s way above his hand, it’s to the right of his hand.  It just moves all over.

Chapter 14

December 28, 2007 //  by editor

There’s a What? Where?!?

About 2 weeks ago, my Beloved came to bed late after working hard.  Normally he doesn’t wake me up, but on this evening he gentle shook me and told me, “if you get up to go to the bathroom, make sure you close the door.”

I opened one bleary eye and looked at the clock.  It read 3:25.  That would be AM.  And being not totally awake my verbal skills just weren’t up to par so all I could do was ask, “why.”  “There’s a possum in the bathroom,” he replied.  “A whut?” “A possum.” “What?”  My Beloved calmly replied, “There’s a possum in the bathroom eating the cat food.  I heard it up on the roof, there must be a breach in the eves.  Just close the door when you go to the bathroom.”

Me, “What?  Did it come in through the hole the bats were coming in?”  Him, “I don’t know.  I’ll check.”  So at 3:30 am my Beloved tromped downstairs, and then tromped to the basement.  The next thing I hear is SLAM! SLAM!!  If you don’t slam our basement door it doesn’t close right.  TROMP, TROMP, TROMP.

My Beloved – “I guess I didn’t close the door to the basement and the possum came in there.”  Now my brain is fully awake and I’m thinking “Ok, what ELSE came in?”  But, I said, “OK.”  Beloved, “But it’s closed now.  The possum is cute.”  Me, “No, we can’t keep it!”  Him, “I’ll take it out in the morning.”  Me, “Ok.”  Him, “Remember to close the door to the bathroom so the possum doesn’t escape.”  Me, “There’s a possum in the bathroom.”

Possum, “crunch, crunch, crunch.”  That’s the best fed possum in our back yard.

Random Thoughts

December 28, 2007 //  by editor

“Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body…but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand – champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and yelling ‘WOO~HOO – What a Ride!'”

Eureka – Blink

If someone could explain to me this…  How on God’s green earth did Carter see the biometric subcutaneous computer chip when the body was cover in all that dirt and debris and yuck?  Seriously.

Eureka – Dr. Nobel

December 28, 2007 //  by editor

Here’s one that I think might be an error, but it could be explained otherwise.  In Dr. Nobel, after Dr. Thatcher has gotten Stark’s Nobel everyone gathers in the room with the MAD machine.  Stark, Allison, Carter, Fargo, Eugenia and Henry (Henry was wearing his coverall’s under his university robes (serious, check.)) are all still in the dress clothes that they were wearing at the presentation.  Dr. Thatcher has changed into the clothes he was wearing before he changed into the tux for the presentation of the Nobel.   Here’s 2 options on why Dr. Thatcher wasn’t wearing a tux at the end of the episode.

  1. When they went back to get his “crew” he changed his clothes.  But honestly would they have had time for him to change out of his tux?
  2. Ooooops.  They got the costume wrong.

 You choose.

Eureka – Invincible

When Allison comes into the Sheriff’s Office and asks Jack why he’s avoiding the physical.  Is it only me or wouldn’t one expect a more technologically advanced pencil sharpener?  It’s an old fashioned mechanical pencil sharpener!  But I love the look he gives Allison over his shoulder as he’s sharpening his pencil.
