Favorite Phrase

I have a new favorite phrase.  “Sod off, Swampy”

‘Sod Off, Swampy,’ Says Cockney Barrow Boy Spiv
“When 35 Greenpeace protesters stormed the International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) yesterday they had planned the operation in great detail,” reports the Times of London:

What they were not prepared for was the post-prandial aggression of oil traders who kicked and punched them back on to the pavement.

“We bit off more than we could chew. They were just Cockney barrow boy spivs. Total thugs,” one protester said, rubbing his bruised skull. “I’ve never seen anyone less amenable to listening to our point of view.”

Another said: “I took on a Texan Swat team at Esso last year and they were angels compared with this lot.” Behind him, on the balcony of the pub opposite the IPE, a bleary-eyed trader, pint in hand, yelled: “Sod off, Swampy.”

“Greenpeace had hoped to paralyse oil trading at the exchange,” the Times notes. It’s pretty clear who the thugs are here, and it’s not the Cockney barrow boy spivs.

bin Laden Description

I found the following description of bin Laden amusing.  It is from When Will Obama Give Up the Bin Laden Ghost Hunt?

“Finally, there’s the mystery why bin Laden didn’t pop up during the election. You would think a narcissistic mass murderer who believes he has a place in history would find it impossible to pass up an opportunity to give his opinion at such a momentous time, at least dropping off a DVD at the al Jazeera office in Islamabad.”

Yoga, Zumba & other exercise

I’m not very good at it.  I’m pretty inflexible.  But I find it wonderfully relaxing.  The great part about it is my work offer’s free classes as part of thier wellness program.  Melanie is the instructor again.  Which is great.  I like her a lot.  She’s got a real calm way about her.  She’s very good.

We also did a class called Zumba.  This is a HIGH intensity latin rhythm dance aerobics.  It’s basically 1 hour of movement & sweat and it was a lot of fun. Everybody Mombo!  Diane from ACAC http://wwwsch.acac.com/InstructorDetail.aspx?personResourceId=766&siteId=121 was the teacher and she definitely channels Pat Croce.  In a “Oh My God I can’t breath and you are barely breaking a sweat, but yes I can go a bit more” way.  She’s very good at what she does!
