Happy Thursday Everyone.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Or it would be if the Doctor & the PA (BOTH) were out of the office with the flu. So \u2026 wait, what do you mean what\u2019s going on?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

Ok. Let\u2019s step back (*giggles* \u2013 it\u2019ll be funny in bit) from the beginning for those who don\u2019t know what\u2019s going on.\u00a0 <\/span>For those of you who do and don\u2019t want to hear (read) the story again, just jump on down to the last bit.\u00a0 <\/span>For those who are new to the story \u2026 ready?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I was in a bar brawl. \u00a0<\/span>Yup. \u00a0<\/span>Broke 2 bones in my left ankle, shattered a 3rd<\/sup> and tore some ligaments.\u00a0 <\/span>Something about a high tear\u2026 \u00a0<\/span>What do you mean \u201cyou don\u2019t think so\u201d?\u00a0 <\/span>I did I broke my \u2026 oh you mean the bar brawl.\u00a0 <\/span>Well, it sound so much more exciting than I was doing my laundry and fell down the last 2 steps.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

On 1\/12 at 8:09 am as I was leaving for work I was taking the laundry to the basement.\u00a0 <\/span>The sheets I was carrying wrapped around my feet and down I went.\u00a0 <\/span>And surprisingly not one cat was involved.\u00a0 <\/span>So off the ER David & I go. \u00a0<\/span>Several hours and surgery later I was the proud owner of a plate, many permanent screws, 1 temporary screw and a nice temporary cast.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>I tried crutches while I was in the hospital \u2013 think giraffe on roller skates \u2013 so they sent me home with a walker.\u00a0 <\/span>Yeah. I don\u2019t feel like 100 years old now!\u00a0 <\/span>9 days after that a very nice young lady removed the temporary cast and put me in a very pretty purple non-weight baring fiber glass cast.\u00a0 <\/span>Which surprisingly & thankfully didn\u2019t itch too much.\u00a0 <\/span>And shortly after that one of the BEST bosses in the entire world loan me her knee scooter (she broke her leg a year early) so I could get from point a (the bed) to point b (the potty) without drama, exhaustion and braking another body part.\u00a0 <\/span>It also opened up the entirety of mom\u2019s house.\u00a0 <\/span>Oh, I didn\u2019t mention that part.\u00a0 <\/span>Yeah, I\u2019m rehabbing at mom\u2019s in New Holland because her house is really designed for old people.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4 weeks later \u2013 obviously I was healing according to plan because the same very nice young lady (don\u2019t ask me her name even though she\u2019s told me, I forget) moved me into a walking cast (or boot).\u00a0 <\/span>Still non-weight baring BUT I released me to drive and go back to work.\u00a0 <\/span>My drive went from 25 minutes to about an hour which kinda stinks.\u00a0 <\/span>But the food is sooooooooooo much better!!!\u00a0 <\/span>Mom lives 10 minutes from Shady Maple (oh yeah!) \u00a0<\/span>Oh Right, there are those of you who are wondering why I\u2019m excited about a tree.\u00a0 <\/span>Shady Maple is a smorgasbord with very good food, not a tree.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

I have been so fortunate!\u00a0 <\/span>I really work for and with an awesome group of people who have been wonderfully supportive.\u00a0 <\/span>And Mom.\u00a0 <\/span>Where would I be without her!\u00a0 <\/span>She has been just amazing!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Stepping back to today [insert rim shot here].\u00a0 <\/span>I was supposed to go for x-ray\u2019s and then I guess setting a date for removing the temporary pin that is holding the ligaments together.\u00a0 <\/span>But PA Cutie Pie and Dr. Very Handsome have the flu.\u00a0 <\/span>(Ok so that\u2019s not exactly their real names\u2026 you\u2019ll forgive me if I don\u2019t bother checking out that part.)\u00a0 <\/span>Did I mention that they didn\u2019t call the right number?\u00a0 <\/span>No? They didn\u2019t.\u00a0 <\/span>We just won\u2019t know for 2 weeks now whether or not the ligaments have healed correctly. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We could do a soap opera style thing here. \u00a0<\/span>(said in best dramatic voice) Have her ligaments healed?\u00a0 <\/span>Are the bones strong enough to support her weight? Will the Doctor or the PA be well enough to read the x-ray?\u00a0 <\/span>Tune in to find out on the next dramatic episode of \u201cOn Crazy Cat Farms\u201d.\u00a0 <\/span>Or something like that.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
