{"id":1832,"date":"2011-08-30T23:59:15","date_gmt":"2011-08-31T03:59:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/taciej.com\/blog\/?p=1832"},"modified":"2011-08-30T23:59:15","modified_gmt":"2011-08-31T03:59:15","slug":"27-28-and-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/taciej.com\/blog\/27-28-and-home\/","title":{"rendered":"27, 28 and Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>08\/27\/11 &#8211; Saturday<br \/>\nToday&#8217;s activities started with the Car Show in downtown Lewiston.\u00a0 There were a lot of neat cars there.\u00a0 I love the old Mustangs.\u00a0 Then it was off to the Thai place for a delightful lunch with Al, his wife &amp; son.\u00a0 All 3 are neat people.\u00a0 Then we went up to Nez Perce National Historical Park museum.\u00a0 It was small, but it was very interesting, with a lot of artifacts. Including a satin ribbon given to the Nez-Perce chief by Lewis &amp; Clark. The bead work on the outfits is amazing.\u00a0 We joined a talk in process, which turned out to be part of a wedding party.\u00a0 The Elder of Nez-Perce&#8217;s granddaughter was marrying a nice Jewish boy.\u00a0 It was an interesting talk and we didn&#8217;t know we were crashing the party until the bride &amp; groom stood up and thank friends and family for joining them in their celebration.\u00a0 Brooke &amp; Edward (or Scott) asked everyone to introduce themselves.\u00a0 Which was a little embarrassing.\u00a0 We stopped at Wendt Pottery to get gifts, but when we first drove up, they were closed.\u00a0 Mr. Wendt was still there and opened the shop just for us!\u00a0 How sweet and I got EXACTLY want I wanted!<\/p>\n<p>Next was home for dinner with Mom &amp; Dad and then off to the Guess Who concert.\u00a0 I got to meet Quinn&#8217;s wife Stacy and a couple other folks.\u00a0 I got to meet so many people I keep forgetting who I met.\u00a0 And then we went to a bar &#8230; don&#8217;t ask me the name &#8230; and exploding out the front door came MaryAnn Mattson.\u00a0 The bouncer got a kick out of her. It was wonderful to meet her.\u00a0 What a sweetie!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>08\/28\/11 &#8211; Sunday.<br \/>\nToday was a trip up to Spokane to have lunch with Byron McLean.\u00a0 Unfortunately we didn&#8217;t get to meet his Beloved Tina (she had to work).\u00a0 The food was yummy.\u00a0 My first Korean.\u00a0 And I got to eat Kimchee!\u00a0 It was good.\u00a0 I like cabbage and I like spicy and kimchee is both.\u00a0 Doug took me the long way home and we stopped at Steptoe Butte in Washington State.\u00a0 It was a long day of driving around, but I got to see a ton of the country up there.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a beautiful country.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>08\/29\/11 &#8211; Monday.<br \/>\nTime to come home.\u00a0 The flight into Lewiston only took a 1\/2 hour.\u00a0 Well, with crossing time zones it was.\u00a0 But on the way back it was 2.5 hours.\u00a0 I was lucky with my seat mate on the flight to Salt Lake City was a delightful gentleman named Anthony.\u00a0 He was in town for a wedding.\u00a0 You guessed it, it was Brooke &amp; Scott&#8217;s wedding that we crashed on Saturday.\u00a0 Doug &amp; I were the talk of the wedding.\u00a0 Which would have been very interesting, and we would have been invited to join.\u00a0 It was 2 services; a traditional Nez-Perce service and then a traditional Jewish wedding.\u00a0 Both outside in 105 degree weather.\u00a0 I had a 2.5 hour lay over in Salt Lake City.\u00a0 It gave me plenty of time to get something to eat and stretch and relax.\u00a0 I&#8217;m now addicted to Starbucks Blueberry Strawberry Yogurt Parfaits.<\/p>\n<p>The next flight was full.\u00a0 And they were asking everyone to check all extra bags.\u00a0 It was going to be one of those sit cramped flights.\u00a0 When I got back to my row it was with 2 gentlemen and one was 6&#8242; 6&#8243;.\u00a0 But they moved him back up to the front where &#8220;shorty&#8221; could have more leg room.\u00a0 I had the aisle seat and my seat mate had the window.\u00a0 He was claustrophobic and preferred the aisle and I preferred the window.\u00a0 So we switched and were both happy and waited for the middle seat person to show up.\u00a0 We ended up being the only row that had only 2 people.\u00a0 Thank you Jesus!!!\u00a0 We were able to &#8220;stretch&#8221; out a bit and it made the flight SO much more enjoyable!\u00a0 And when I got to Philly &#8230; the sexiest man in the world was there to take me home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I had a delightful trip.\u00a0 Mom &amp; Doug Graham are just wonderful people who opened their home to me.\u00a0 They were wonderful hosts and made me feel like one of the family.\u00a0 Doug was a wonderful tour guide.
