There’s a\u00a0What?<\/em> Where<\/em>?!?<\/p>\n

About 2 weeks ago, my Beloved came to bed late after working hard.\u00a0 Normally he doesn’t wake me up, but on this evening he gentle shook me and told me, “if you get up to go to the bathroom, make sure you close the door.”<\/p>\n

I opened one bleary eye and looked at the clock.\u00a0 It read 3:25.\u00a0 That would be AM.\u00a0 And being not totally awake my verbal skills just weren’t up to par so all I could do was ask, “why.”\u00a0 “There’s a possum in the bathroom,” he replied.\u00a0 “A whut?” “A possum.” “What?”\u00a0 My Beloved calmly replied, “There’s a possum in the bathroom eating the cat food.\u00a0 I heard it up on the roof, there must be a breach in the eves.\u00a0 Just close the door when you go to the bathroom.”<\/p>\n

Me, “What?\u00a0 Did it come in through the hole the bats were coming in?”\u00a0 Him, “I don’t know.\u00a0 I’ll check.”\u00a0 So at 3:30 am my Beloved tromped downstairs, and then tromped to the basement.\u00a0 The next thing I hear is SLAM! SLAM!!\u00a0 If you don’t slam our basement door it doesn’t close right.\u00a0 TROMP, TROMP, TROMP.<\/p>\n

My Beloved – “I guess I didn’t close the door to the basement and the possum came in there.”\u00a0 Now my brain is fully awake and I’m thinking “Ok, what ELSE came in?”\u00a0 But, I said, “OK.”\u00a0 Beloved, “But it’s closed now.\u00a0 The possum is cute.”\u00a0 Me, “No, we can’t keep it!”\u00a0 Him, “I’ll take it out in the morning.”\u00a0 Me, “Ok.”\u00a0 Him, “Remember to close the door to the bathroom so the possum doesn’t escape.”\u00a0 Me, “There’s a possum in the bathroom.”<\/p>\n

Possum, “crunch, crunch, crunch.”\u00a0 That’s the best fed possum in our back yard.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
