A girlfriend gave me a copy of her book in a PDF format and I wanted to put it in my Kindle for iPhone so I could take it with me. I looked around on the next and got part here, part there, and a lot of bad info along the way. Once I finally figured it out,\u00a0it is so easy. It took me most of a day to research it, but once I realized how to do it I had a total \u201cD\u2019oh!!!\u201d moment.\u00a0 So since I couldn\u2019t find the exact directions anywhere else \u2026 I\u2019m making my own.\u00a0 Follow the pink arrows on the pictures (which you can click on to make bigger).\u00a0 They will show you where to go.<\/p>\n

What you need.
\n1. PDF you want to convert into an Kindle for iPhone readable format.
\n2. Mobipocket Creator software (free download at http:\/\/www.mobipocket.com\/en\/DownloadSoft\/DownloadCreator.asp<\/a>).<\/p>\n

Assumptions:
\n1. You have a PC with iTunes installed.
\n2. You have Kindle for iPhone installed.
\n3. You know how to save files in directories and then find them again later.
\n4. You know how to find & open programs.
\n5. You can be a little patient. (This is VERY hard for me sometimes.)<\/p>\n

What you do.
\nMake sure you are synced up with iTunes.\u00a0 This is only just in case you have a problem you are all backed up (this is just the IT coming out).<\/p>\n

Keep your iPhone connected to your PC.<\/p>\n

Install Mobipocket Creator.\u00a0 You must have the Creator.<\/p>\n

Start Mobipocket Creator.\u00a0 Open your PDF by clicking the \u201cAdobe PDF\u201d link under the \u201cImport From Existing File\u201d menu on the home page (see the pink arrow on the image below).<\/p>\n

Click the \u201cBrowse\u201d button and click on your file name and click \u201cOpen\u201d.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Then click \u201cImport\u201d.\u00a0 The status bar will show you your import.<\/p>\n

Click the \u201cBuild\u201d button along the top row.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Pause a moment.\u00a0 If you are feeling adventurous, explore the options on the right hand side (Cover Image, Table of Contents, Book settings, Metadata, Guide).\u00a0 I\u2019m not going into them here, but would be happy to answer any questions.<\/p>\n

Click the \u201cBuild\u201d button.<\/p>\n

You are now ready to import your file into you Kindle for iPhone.<\/p>\n

Open iTunes
\nClick on your iPhone (mine is called iPhone but yours may have another name) on the left hand menu bar.
\nClick on “Apps”\u00a0at the top.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Scroll down.<\/p>\n

Click on Kindle<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Click on the \u201cAdd\u2026\u201d button.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Find your newly created \u201cprc\u201d file.\u00a0 It should be in \u201cMy Documents\u201d \u201cMy Publications\u201d and then look for a subdirectory with the name of the PDF file. In this case the subdirectory is\u00a0 “Love Unscripted”.
\nClick on the file name with the \u201cprc\u201d extension. Then click the \u201cOpen\u201d button.<\/p>\n

Your file will appear in the list box and your iPhone will automatically sync.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The next time you open your Kindle for iPhone an additional file (a \u201cmbp\u201d file) will be added to the list box.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

DO NOT DELETE THESE FILES<\/em><\/strong>! If you delete them they will be removed from your Kindle as well and you will have to do this whole thing all over again.<\/p>\n

Tah-Dah!!!<\/p>\n
