{"id":1684,"date":"2010-12-11T01:44:15","date_gmt":"2010-12-11T05:44:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/taciej.com\/blog\/?p=1684"},"modified":"2010-12-11T01:44:15","modified_gmt":"2010-12-11T05:44:15","slug":"thank-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/taciej.com\/blog\/thank-you\/","title":{"rendered":"Thank you&#8230;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s been an odd day.\u00a0 It must be because I\u2019m getting older.\u00a0 I know 3 families that have lost love ones today.\u00a0 One is an on-line friend in England \u2013 she lost her father to cancer. Another is an on-line \u201cbrother\u201d who just happened to have a different mother &amp; father &#8211; his ex-wife (who he was still friends with) passed from cancer. And the final was one of the members of my church.\u00a0 They say these things come in threes &#8211; they did today.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Well because I made it through today (or at least until now) I thought I should say thank you to the friends in my life who have mean something to me.\u00a0 Some are new friends, some are old friends who have come back, and some are old friends who have just stuck around.\u00a0 Any way you look at it you guys are all AWESOME in your own way and have made a big difference in my life.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0And this is not a complete list by any means.\u00a0 If I\u2019ve left someone off &#8211; it wasn\u2019t on purpose. I just picked a handful of folks.\u00a0 And it doesn\u2019t mean that, if you\u2019ve been left off, you mean any less than those on the list.\u00a0 And I\u2019ll warn you, this is going to get a bit sentimental and probably a bit sappy.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0I\u2019m not going to say anything about Mom &amp; Dad. Besides, without them I wouldn\u2019t be here to write this and they are the most wonderful parents in the world.\u00a0 And I\u2019m not saying anything about my David\u2026 he\u2019s got his own post.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/taciej.com\/blog\/?p=1480\">http:\/\/taciej.com\/blog\/?p=1480<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Ready?\u00a0 And we\u2019re walking\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0We will start with my oldest and dearest friend David. I met David in 1972 in first grade at High Street School.\u00a0 What do you say about someone who you\u2019ve known for 86% of your life?\u00a0 I\u2019m allowed to call him David basically because I\u2019ve been doing it for 86% of his life.\u00a0 It\u2019s hard to change.\u00a0 He is wonderful. He\u2019s always reached out to me no matter what. He took me to the Who concert\u2026 and we were close enough to see Rodger Daltry\u2019s earring.\u00a0 How cool is that?!\u00a0 Even if we missed a couple of years of each other lives we could always catch up.\u00a0 He\u2019s always been one of the pillars in my life, maybe slightly hidden, but always there.\u00a0 I love him.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Eric &amp; Ruthann.\u00a0 I\u2019ve known Eric since at least 1980ish.\u00a0 We went to Summer Science with Mrs. K before that, but didn\u2019t really know each other.\u00a0 Eric &amp; I have made it through 2 marriages, 2 divorces, and finding \u201cthe one.\u201d\u00a0 He was the rock of my world for the longest time. I knew without hesitation that he was there.\u00a0 I could call him no matter when &#8211; 2 am, 4 am, whenever.\u00a0 And he met the most amazing woman.\u00a0 I always used to tease him, we\u2019d end up 50 and divorced and back together again.\u00a0 And I\u2019m thrilled to say that is not going to come true.\u00a0 I\u2019m sorry I missed so much time with them.\u00a0 I will always adore Eric &amp; Ruthann.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Mare.\u00a0 What can I say? I love her to pieces.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been through it all. Friends, not so friends, friends.\u00a0 I read a quote once, about friends walking away and getting back together, and being better friends because of it.\u00a0 Sophomore year is when we met.\u00a0 Of high school, that is.\u00a0 It was great to have classes with her, because she always got out early from classes and needed someone to help her carry her books.\u00a0 And she had the key to the elevator!\u00a0 I\u2019m so lucky to know her.\u00a0 She\u2019s introduced me to some of the most interesting folks.\u00a0 Mare has always been on of those who\u2019s been there in good &amp; bad times.\u00a0 Some day we\u2019ll be little old ladies looking back and laughing at the years.\u00a0 And I want to say Thank you to Anthony for loving Mare &amp; making her happy.<\/p>\n<p>I have the best bosses in the world.\u00a0 Ray, who I will miss, was so wonderful.\u00a0 He has a wonderful wife, 3 wonderful daughters &amp; many grandkids.\u00a0 Hey!\u00a0 He was so proud of his girls &amp; their kids.\u00a0 And he ALWAYS had a funny story and loved to laugh.\u00a0 My direct boss is wonderful too.\u00a0 He also has a wonderful wife, 2 wonderful kids &amp; 4 grandkids of whom his is so proud.\u00a0 I\u2019ve learned a lot from Bob &amp; Ray.\u00a0 I think I have, anyway.\u00a0 Patience, forgiveness &amp; holding my tongue.\u00a0 Although that last one still needs a little work.\u00a0 I am lucky to have been part of both of their lives over the last 13 years.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Auditor Ed.\u00a0 Thank you for not making it personal.\u00a0 Thank you for listening &amp; teaching to make me a better at what I do.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Nealla.\u00a0 What can I say about Nealla.\u00a0 She\u2019s type A nuts!\u00a0 And I love her intensity.\u00a0 She is exceedingly good at what she does and could be the head of her department\u2026 but she\u2019d rather do what she\u2019s doing.\u00a0 She\u2019s drug me into a FF league &#8211; which is a blast &#8211; and into helping her with the election. No, I did not volunteer to help, (ok maybe I did!).\u00a0 I\u2019m really glad our paths crossed.\u00a0 She\u2019s added fun (and some comp-time) to my life!<\/p>\n<p>Pastor Avery &amp; GWM.\u00a0 My church family.\u00a0 What can I say.\u00a0 We are part of an amazing wonderful church family.\u00a0 I have been introduced to some amazing, amazing preachers (the Cuthbertson\u2019s (all of them!), Minister Burrows &amp; his beautiful wife, Minister Murray, and many more). I have learned much from all.\u00a0 The McKim\u2019s, the Reeves, Sister Jones &amp; her elegant, gorgeous (mind, body &amp; soul) daughter Desiree, Aunt Anna &amp; Deacon Anderson.\u00a0 They have accepted me with all my faults and flaws.\u00a0 I love them all.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Which leads naturally to Elaine.\u00a0 One of the nicest, easy going, sweet, wonderful ladies I know!\u00a0 Amazingly patient. I just love her. And she introduced me to the 2nd most awesome fries &#8211; Sloppy Joe Fries.\u00a0 She\u2019s taught me a whole lot about patience\u2026 the ability to not worry about situations, they will always get better. I don\u2019t know any one who has a more positive attitude. And grace in the face of adversity. She\u2019s just amazing.<\/p>\n<p>Bob &amp; Cozy.\u00a0 Mare introduced me to Bob, who introduced me to his wife.\u00a0 What a cool couple!\u00a0 Very, very cool!\u00a0 They are both incredibly interesting and fun!\u00a0 I\u2019ve learned quite a bit from Bob\u2026 or laughed my butt off at his e-mails.\u00a0 And I\u2019m looking forward to eating spaghetti with chopsticks with Cozy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Michelle.\u00a0 What can I say about Michelle.\u00a0 She is awesome fun! I love her.\u00a0 We went to high school together, but went friends.\u00a0 I think I missed out on some fun.\u00a0 But that\u2019s ok.\u00a0 We are playing high school on FB these days.\u00a0 (insert eye roll here)\u00a0 She is a strong and intense person.\u00a0 Another type A &#8211; in a good way! \u00a0I really enjoy her company.\u00a0 We\u2019ve had some good giggles on FB and she\u2019s really inspired me to blog more than just TV quotes.\u00a0 She one of those people who is instantly your friend.\u00a0 She\u2019s not afraid to speak her mind, and is willing to listen.\u00a0 I\u2019m really glad she friended me on FB.\u00a0 I\u2019m lucky to be able to call her friend!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0There\u2019s one person who I\u2019m really not supposed to be friend with &#8211; Christy.\u00a0 She is married to a great guy who I dated in high.\u00a0 When he met her in college he fell absolutely head over heels in love with her.\u00a0 And I am incredibly lucky to call her friend. She is just so wonderful.\u00a0 It just goes to show that intelligent &amp; charming women can always agree on the good things in life.\u00a0 And one of those things is she &amp; her beloved husband are the cutest couple and are totally 100% meant to be.\u00a0 And I\u2019m just blessed to have them as friends.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Arnold.\u00a0 What can I say?\u00a0 You are an AMAZING Dad!\u00a0 I am very sorry.\u00a0 You deserved better from me.\u00a0 Thank you for giving me a second chance to be your friend.\u00a0 I am looking forward to meeting your Becca some day soon.\u00a0 You are very talented artist.\u00a0 Don\u2019t give it up.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Doug.\u00a0 I met Doug on FB because of the Mythbusters.\u00a0 Doug is a scream.\u00a0 He has made me laugh &#8211; a lot.\u00a0 I\u2019m very glad I met him.\u00a0 He has introduced me to a bunch of fun and wonderful people.\u00a0 One of these day\u2019s I\u2019ve got to meet him up close and personal.\u00a0 Doug kept me company when I needed to be distracted.\u00a0 Thank you Doug for being there for me.<\/p>\n<p>Greg &amp; Kathy.\u00a0 Another Mythbusters find.\u00a0 Greg &amp; I \u201ctalked\u201d on FB and he asked if it would be OK if he called.\u00a0 20 minutes later I hear \u201cG\u2019day!\u201d\u00a0 Greg &amp; Kathy are just wonderful people.\u00a0 I was thrilled to get to meet them (I still feel bad I was so late!) live and in person.\u00a0 Greg was another one who gave me a distraction when I needed it.\u00a0 Kathy is just an absolutely delightful lady.\u00a0 Thank you both for the offer to go \u201cdown under\u201d and visit you!\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to take you up on it.\u00a0 They are a lovely, lovely couple and I am lucky to be able to call them friend.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0We\u2019re coming to the end\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Tina &amp; Roxy.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to lump you 2 together because without Tina, I wouldn\u2019t know my clan mate Roxy.\u00a0 I met Tina over on the SPP boards when she was an Ambassador.\u00a0 She\u2019s cool, sexy, sassy and terrific.\u00a0 And Roxy\u2026 what can I say.\u00a0 She and I are family. Well, in a clan kind of a way.\u00a0 Another amazing, sexy, sassy, cool, wonderful amazing woman!\u00a0 I am so blessed to have met these guys through FB.\u00a0 One of these days I\u2019m going to meet both Roxy &amp; Tina.\u00a0 I love you both!<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0And last but not least Law &amp; Mynx.\u00a0 2 amazing, amazing people.\u00a0 I met Law through Doug.\u00a0 Actually I think Doug said I should be friends with Law.\u00a0 He was right.\u00a0 Law is family too.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been adopted.\u00a0 I love him a lot.\u00a0 He helped me through a rough time because he understood completely what I was going through.\u00a0 And I can\u2019t say thank you enough for that.\u00a0 And Mynx\u2026 she shared him with me.\u00a0 That was just a wonderful gift.\u00a0 I can\u2019t thank her enough for sharing her Beloved with me.\u00a0 I was lucky enough to get to meet them both up close in person.\u00a0 Law is sweet and kind.\u00a0 I will miss him over here on the east coast, but I am happy he is back home.\u00a0 He\u2019s has been a blessing to my life.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0And that is the end of this list.\u00a0 Please, please don\u2019t be offended if you aren\u2019t on the list.\u00a0 This is not by any means a comprehensive list.\u00a0 It\u2019s just the people who popped into my head as I was typing.\u00a0 And it\u2019s not everyone who means something to me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s been an odd day.\u00a0 It must be because I\u2019m getting older.\u00a0 I know 3 families that have lost love ones today.\u00a0 One is an on-line friend in England \u2013 she lost her father to cancer.
